Fewer cheques ? more Direct Debits

ChequeBook

24 June 2011

The cheque card guarantee scheme ends on 30th June 2011, but it will be possible to write and process cheques for the foreseeable future. The cheque, originally used by goldsmiths to pay traders they trusted, has been used for around 350 years. While it’s nice to receive a cheque in the post, it is the most expensive form of payment to process.

In membership organisations, the trend is away from cheque payments towards payments by credit card, debit card and direct debits.

We would like to remind you that Decisions’ Contact Manager, already provides options for all of these. It easily interfaces with the major accounting systems, such as SagePay, and the online banking networks, so that our customers can offer proper, secure online payments that meet the strictest security standards.

This means that their members can safely pay online, and it reduces paperwork in the membership office. Contact Manager allows members to phase their direct debits to pay monthly, quarterly or annually.
