Our background and experience
Decisions Express Limited started life in 1992 with a dedicated group of IT professionals who built bespoke applications utilising the Express software range developed by Information Resources Inc. These applications where built specifically for the On-Line Analytical Processing (OLAP) sector.
The company's first major clients included Ofwat, Abbey National, Glaxo and the World Bank. In 1995 the OLAP market was recognised as a vital sector for key management reporting and data analysis by Oracle, the result being that Information Resources Inc was purchased by Oracle.
This recognition by Oracle enabled Decisions to further expand its OLAP portfolio. Decisions were selected as a key consultancy provider for Oracle for many major projects.
Decisions has continued to leverage its core OLAP competency by developing an expertise in the Business Intelligence (BI) arena. Specifically by utilising Microsoft's SQL Server BI tools and other third party tools such as Dundas Reporting.
Whilst OLAP helps to define the company's history, it is now only one part of the integrated IT consultancy that Decisions has become. Underlying its OLAP expertise, Decisions has solid expertise in relational database management systems (RDBMS), providing solutions to complex data handling and data analysis problems for companies in a wide range of sectors.
Internet technologies allow data users to access data quickly and easily from a "thin" client platform. The ease with which browser based applications can be deployed to large numbers of users means that applications can be rolled out to users more quickly than ever, and new functionality can be added just as speedily.
Decisions have used Internet technologies both to increase the effective life of legacy systems as well as to form the base for new, function-rich applications for clients by developing our own CRM system contact manager™ CRM and a comprehensive portfolio of products and services.
A natural extension of this fundamental RDBMS expertise is the ability to develop flexible and usable front-end applications for business users. Decisions continues to develop bespoke software applications for a variety of users in many business sectors, including pricing applications for use in the retail petroleum industry and contact management applications for use in commerce and association management, together with a range of software development tools.
